Elisha C. is officially launched with the help of a supportive team of people! Haiti EXPO LA, held on December 14th, 2013 in West Los Angeles, was a historic night – the start of a worldwide traveling exhibition to share the hidden beauty of Haiti with the rest of the world.

I was humbled by the tremendous support. People came in from all over, including San Diego and the Bay Area to join us for this special night. Even my very own mother, who has been my inspiration as a successful woman entrepreneur, flew in all the way from China to be a part of this night.

Friends reflected on the days when all this was only an idea and now it has become a reality! It has been a few years of preparation, from writing out ideas to taking classes, and from researching online to scheduling business meetings in Haiti. It felt like a long process. I couldn’t wait to get this vision off the ground. But great vision takes great preparation. If you have a great vision, you cannot underestimate the preparation process. I have given much of my time, energy, resources and plenty of sacrifices. This was a wonderful night to finally be able to share what has been growing inside of me with others. As my mother puts it, “today is day one of your baby, now it will take time to nurture and help it grow.”

Through this first Haiti Expo, people were quickly enlightened about Haiti, awed by of the beauty of the Haitian products and amazed at the taste of Haitian coffee. We were able to support many Haitian artisans this night. Like the old proverb says, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” I believe the Haiti Expo will continue to be a great way to raise Haiti awareness all over the world and to advance our vision to bring economic stability to Haiti.

Thank you for all your support in making this possible for Haiti! It’s definitely the beginning of something great!

Love,
Elisha
